Report on presentation

Our colleges Abdullah Ali and Khalid Abdullah did a presentation about land pollution in class T001. Abdullah started the presentation by a brief introduction.

Then he talked about the causes of pollution and he gives us the main reasons of it then he discussed the effects of pollution on the different parts of life. After that Khalid continued the presentation and he talked about the ways of reducing the pollution and how we can save the planet and the he showed some possible solutions that could be used.

The presentation style was good and the points were simple and well arranged and both of them were using notes to be organized during the presentation. In general the presentation is good and both of them had a loud and clear voice. Abdullah was reading from the notes and his eye contact with the audiences was not good enough.

In conclusion they did well but they can improve their skills by practicing more.

class 101

Now we reach the end of the semester after taken a new useful class not in our major only but in our life. One of the classes that I will always remember and appreciate to taken it is the English 101 with Mr. John Vrhovnik.

I enjoyed working with the professor to improve my communication English skills; one of these skills is how to prepare and organize a meeting. Before when I had a meeting I was coming without any arrangement but now I learned that the good meeting depends on the great agenda and planning. And hopefully use these skills in my next meetings and of course always be on the time.

I had some challenges in this semester and the most challenge thing was doing the semi-formal presentation, because I wondered how we do a presentation without using a PowerPoint. However I did the presentation then I found that the PowerPoint is a way that supports us in doing presentation not the opposite. So to deal with this problem I used another strategy as our professor use a story or a topic that interest the audience and do a lot of practice so you don’t have to use a notes.

In conclusion, it’s my pleasure to work with a great man and I will work by his notes. Also I will try to improve my English in the future and always learn from the mistakes.

Abdulla AlShehhi Presentation Report

I will write a report about one of my classmate presentation. His name is Abdulla Ali Alshehhi and ID number H00156266. He did his presentation in class number 31 at the J block and it was Thursday the 9th of December at 10 clocks on the morning.

Abdulla chose his topic which is BlackBerry because it’s the most common use these days. He started by introduce himself and welcoming the audience. After that he jumped to present the topic without using any questions or story, which made his opening weak. Next he mentioned the point which he will discusses it throw the presentation, he talked about the history, advantage and disadvantage of BlackBerry which was interesting for some people whose don’t have this device and for the others were boring because their already have this information except the history. His voice was clear but there was a lot of time stopping and locking to the board, I think he didn’t practice very well. However he used notes to support him and the good thing he used it in good way.

Also he used two PowerPoint slides which he putted his point on it and some pictures. The points were very clear and simple to catch, although the pictures were great and helped him to view the types of BlackBerry. Finally he ends his presentation by a brief summary and said that he briefer BlackBerry than IPhone because it has a messenger and almost all the people use BlackBerry in UAE and answering his audience questions.

In conclusion, the presentation was good and his topic. I hope next time he prepare and practice more.

meeting

Today we have reached the stage of progress we have not seen, this happened by taking on the right decisions or wrong that we are trying to solve and learn from them. Making the right decision does not come a coincidence, but comes by doing meeting. These meetings solved many problems and came with best solutions.
So in class 101 with Mr. John Vrhovnik we have enjoyed the opportunity to do a meeting and it was composed of four people who are the chairman, note taker and group member, what I had to do is to bring some practical ideas and help in solving the problem that posed to us. We have given a week to collect enough information about the problem, so when we met, there were many wonderful ideas and solutions in front of us. We took the best solution and the ideas that were weak and complicated we just ignore it. I learned from this meeting is that when people work together and everyone get the free to speak and give their opinion we will have the best solutions for our problems. Even we will a become more civilize and understanding between each other.
In conclusion, in the next meeting I will be more prepare and bring best solutions. And of course using agenda because without it you will be lost and let the other member take their chance to speak. Last thing is always be on time
